There are four styles of armor in Crowfall: cloth, leather, mail, and plate. They provide increasing amounts of protection against incoming damage, with cloth providing the least and plate providing the most. Each style of armor provides specific benefits and penalties. All four equipment slots (head, chest, hands, and feet) will provide some degree of protection, indicated by the armor stat listed on the item. The armor will also list specific damage mitigations, damage resistances, damage bonuses, health regeneration bonuses, etc. Like many other items, armor has durability. Eventually, armor will break and need to be replaced. Armor will take damage during combat or upon death.

While some armor can be found while killing War Tribes that roam the world, the best high-end armor is crafted by players.[1]

Crafting Cloth Boots

Cloth armor (also called Intermediate Armor) is the most basic style of armor. It provides the least amount of protection, however cloth armor can be worn by any Class and can be crafted easily by anyone. There are no additives or experimentation points available when crafting cloth armor. In order to craft cloth armor, use a Generic Crafting Table or Leatherworking Station. The recipes for cloth armor are listed under Intermediate Armor in the Leatherworking section.

Leather[ | ]

Leather armor can be worn by any Class. While it has the lowest armor stat potential of the three styles of advanced armor, leather armor inherently provides additional damage and healing bonuses. With the proper Exploration Discipline equipped, leather armor can be crafted at the Leatherworking Station. Being that it is advanced armor, experimentation points are available when crafting leather armor. These experimentation points can adjust the stats on the item during the crafting process. Additives are items and seals that may be added to items during the crafting phase to imbue them with additional stats and mitigations. Some additive slots may require the use of crafting belts or accessories.

Mail[ | ]

Mail armor is available by default to Champion, Cleric, Druid, and Myrmidon. This armor may also be available to other Classes depending on their Promotion Class. Mail has a moderate armor stat potential, and will also provide additional damage and healing bonuses (though less than leather). With the proper Exploration Discipline equipped, mail armor can be crafted at the Blacksmithing Station. Being that it is advanced armor, experimentation points are available when crafting mail armor. These experimentation points can adjust the stats on the item during the crafting process. Additives are items and seals that may be added to items during the crafting phase to imbue them with additional stats and mitigations. Some additive slots may require the use of crafting belts or accessories.

Plate[ | ]

Plate armor is available by default to the Knight and Templar, though it may be available to other Classes depending on their Promotion Class. Plate has the highest armor stat potential but has no additional damage and healing bonuses. With the proper Exploration Discipline equipped, plate armor can be crafted at the Blacksmithing Station. Being that it is advanced armor, experimentation points are available when crafting plate armor. These experimentation points can adjust the stats on the item during the crafting process. Additives are items and seals that may be added to items during the crafting phase to imbue them with additional stats and mitigations. Some additive slots may require the use of crafting belts or accessories.
